Brickburg Castle is a fictional LEGO castle, designed for the Bricklink Designer Program. The castle is inspired by Eastern European castles and architecture. The castle has a lower gate house that leads up to a functioning drawbridge. The bridge operates through a system of gears that can be operated from the main tower.
The gatehouse leads into a small courtyard, from which the main castle can be entered. Through the armoury a door gives access to the main tower. This central space in the castle provides access to all the different rooms and floors of the building.
Take the stairs down to reach the fully operational kitchen, and even further below, to the dungeons. Let’s hope these prison cells don’t have any such thing as a secret exit. Turn around, and take the stairs back up again. From the main floor the stairs take us into the great hall. Adorned with a large hearth, this room functions as the beating heart of the castle. This is where our lord and lady enjoy their lavish meals (and use the privy)!
The stairs then lead us along a gothic window, providing the main tower with some much needed light. The stairs bring us to a door, which opens up to the top of the gatehouse. The gatehouse gallery gives way to the guard quarters. This is where the soldiers sleep.
The stairs in the main tower also provide further access to a ladder that brings us into the final room: the bedroom of the lord and lady.
Brickburg castle is designed as a doll house style building, and has high enough ceilings that it can be used as such. The upper roofs and the left tower top can be lifted to give even more access to the interior.
The castle comes with 10 minifigures:
4 Brickburg soldiers, with 1 horse
1 Brickburg lady
1 brickburg lord
2 peasants, with 1 cow
1 cook
1 lady-in-waiting
The set has 3999 pieces
