"Zalthar, once a trusted advisor to the Lion Knights royal family, betrayed the queen, hoping to seize the throne. His plot failed, and as punishment, he was exiled to the unforgiving desert.
Wandering the endless dunes, Zalthar stumbled upon the ruins of an ancient citadel, half-buried in the sand. Beneath it’s crumbled halls, he discovered purple gemstones pulsating with dark magic.
With the power of the stones, Zalthar rebuilt the castle and the forged the Knight Owls , a group of fearless warriors bound to his will.
Together with his new army, he set his sights on the kingdom, determined to overthrow the queen and seize the throne once more."
The Desert Citadel is a modular castle consisting of just over 2400 pieces. All rooms on the upper floors are removable for easy access to all parts of the detailed interior.
On the ground floor of the castle you’ll find the gate house, a courtyard with multiple fountains, the stable, a small kitchen and the jail cell. The market stall with fine fabrics and pottery stands right outside the castle walls.
The rooms above include a the throne room, a study, the armory and guard tower. A bedroom with a potions cabinet is located on top of the throne room. All rooms are accessible for minifigures by stairs and ladders.
The 7 minifigures include the wizard Zalthar, 3 Knight Owl warriors, the Knight Owl princess, a market vendor and a young snake charmer. This girl could be the younger version of the snake charmer from the Medieval Seaside Market…
I wanted this castle to feel like a classic LEGO build while including new building techniques and interesting parts usage. The castle has many secret that can be discovered while building the set…
