Thank you for checking out my model of a working Tennis Match.
The match takes place on a (not regulation size) tennis court,
elevated to allow space for the mechanism below. To the side of the
court we have the officiating Chair Umpire, in her state-of-the-art
umpire's chair. To either side are the player's benches, with spare
rackets, balls, drink bottles and gear bags.
Crank the handle clockwise to send the players running down the
service line to hit the ball back and forth crosscourt in a never
ending rally!
There are three minifigures included:
And there are two stickers for the scoreboards.
The sides of the model are built with scaffolding with recessed
brickwork, and decorated with plate and tile built tennis balls and
the official* Tennis Match logo.
*not actually official
There is a cavity in the back with access to the main drive shaft of
the mechanism, large enough to accommodate most Lego motors (with
some building to ensure proper fit).
This set is based on a model I originally designed for Brickvention
(Australia) as the 2024 convention set. Brickvention is held at the
same time as the Australian Open and the convention set was designed
to commemorate that. The original went from concept to finished
design in 3 days and is the version you can see in the video.
Model dimensions:
Width: 22.7 cm
Length: 20.8 cm
Height: 18.7 cm
Why not be the first?
