King Hill Castle

Build atop a small hill overlooking the picturesque village of Eecke, King Hill castle remains a prominent status symbol of the region.

Though the days of the King residing in this castle are gone, the current Lord of Eecke established it as his home. Using the castle to maintain peace in the village and it’s surrounding .

Lately there has been a problem with some scoundrel ambushes in the local forest. The Lord managed to capture one of these scoundrels, locking him up for further interrogation. However this Scoundrel seems cunning. A close eye will need to be kept on him.

This model was inspired by the classic Lego castles series.

Since the release of the eldorado fortress I've wanted to repurpose the raised baseplate for a castle, as was done back in the day. the Bricklink Designer Program seemed to be the ideal excuse to start on this!

My goal for this model was to recreate the classic castle, with a focus on accessibility (stairs/ladders) and different ways to display/play with the model.

The alternate setups you can see in the pictures are just examples as I tried to make each submodel as versatile as possible.

I had a great time building this, I hope you'll have the chance to do the same!

Thank you for you detailed answer. Unfortunately many people don't zoom in the images to check all the details and then just move to the next project : (

To answer some of the questions below: @finaldeath No horses? I decided against it as there was no barding or saddle available in the pallet of series 7. I’ve seen that some made there own barding which in retrospect might have been a solution. Second possible solution would be horse and cart but as not to increase piececount ‘unnecessarily’ I decided against this too. Lack of enemy force. Yes this is rather unfortunate. I added a wolfpack member to have some ‘conflict’ within the set. I don’t see the wolfpack as an army that would assault a castle. More of a bandit/ambush faction. If the black falcons would be available then I might have been able to give the choice of the castle being black falcon or lion knight with minimal extra pieces. Does the drawbridge work? Yes! I must admit that this an oversight of me not noting this in the description. In the second picture you can see the winch on top. The drawbridge can be raised and lowered by it smoothly. There is also a bar to lock the mechanism. @DaMax The 7th picture: admittedly not the clearest picture, but it shows a secret passage to the chest and other valuables. In the third picture you can see to where it leads. On the wall with the small tree you can see the barrel with golden statue, on the richt the chest with riches. When the castle is in it’s compact form, these two connect to each other. Hope this clears things up 😁

Looks pretty nice but there's some real oddities - no horses? No idea if the drawbridge works? The design is, since it's based off a classic basic castle, rather basic, so I am glad for some much needed little additions - the well, the trees, the bedroom, since it feels rather "empty" in a lot of ways. Maybe the lack of "enemy force" and animals contributes to that for me personally.
