Vintage Tram

All aboard the Vintage Tram! With stops all around the city, it’s the perfect way to travel in style while taking in all the city sights.

Eight minifigures bring the station to life, each with a unique story and reason for taking the tram that day. Among them, you’ll find a gardener tending to the trees and plants behind the station, a young girl honing her photography skills, and a grandmother enjoying a day out with her grandson. Two commuters prepare for their jobs in the city, while the tram conductor ensures everything runs smoothly and on time. Lastly, a travelling woman with a suitcase is heading to the city centre to start her vacation!

Building the station was a super interesting process, where the entire station is built sideways to allow for masonry and fluted bricks to add some depth and texture to the platform. I always wanted to make a row of trees to serve as a nice background, and I’m super happy with how it serves as a nice contrast to the greyness of the station itself. The tram can also be moved around the display or taken out to be used on its own. From there, you can take the roof off to seat the conductor and four passengers.

I’m happy that I was able to repurpose parts for other uses. My favourites are the mudguards used as flowerpots, space guns used for the tram suspension, and lug wrenches used for the fencing. There are some other interesting part usages if you can spot them (hint: the tram wheels aren’t even wheels!)
