The "Medieval Prison" design is my recreation of the historic prison of Annecy, France (also known as Palais de l'Isle). It is nota replica but it was used as an inspiration. I tried to capture the medieval architecture blended with the creative possibilities of Lego parts.
The prison of Annecy stands on an island in the Thiou River with limited access to the mainland. Its unique triangular shape, stone walls and narrow windows inspired me.
My design process started with researching the history and architecture of Annecy prison. I studied its structure and details to make sure my model would be accurate enough. I then started building in the Studio app, focusing on the important features and adding details gradually. I started the building process from the main building together with the exterior yard (mainly the exterior walls & structure), then jumped to the base that is rock-based and at the end, I added features and details in the interiors and the yard. Some highlights on my building process:
A short description of the model:
Why not be the first?
