Story
Bob loves bees. That's the reason he decided to become a beekeper, but he didn't account for the bandits who would keep stealing his honey. So Bob needed a solution. Thanks to the gracious king, he was able to relocate his bee farm around an old watchtower and get some support from blackfalcon soldiers to fend off the bandits and supply the Kingdom with much-needed honey and candles! But Bob doesn't know about the new secret weapon of the bandits yet: A BEAR!
Design Process/Inspiration
I'm, just like Bob, a huge fan of bees, so I wanted to build something around them and that combined with my love for the medieval theme gave me the idea for a medieval beefarm! Did you know that oldest linked evidence between humans and bees dates back almost 10.000 years to ancient Egypt?!
But, of course, you don't have to travel back that far to find Bob!
The Honey bee's products were very valuable in the medieval time, because the honey and wax could be used for medicine and food. Also, the sweetness of the honey was a welcome change in taste, because other sweetener like sugarcane where very hard to come by.
About the build:
Bob's Bee Farm consists of a watchtower with 3 floors, one of those of which has a hammock for tired soldiers to rest on. The middle floor is connected to Bob's living area, where you can find a small kitchen on one side and his bedroom on the other. The roofs of those two small houses can be lifted to see the inside. There are, of course, lots of flowers for the bees to pollinate, as well as a tree that is home to 4 hives. The back of the tower was also modified to be a home for, you guessed it, even more bees!
Minifigure:
There are 7 Minifigures in this build including:
Beekeper Bob and his wife Maria, 3 Blackfalcon soldiers, one
lookout, one heavily armed and one who has yet to befriend the bees,
and last but not least, two bandits and their bear!
