The Modern Townhouses are a combination of two modular buildings, each built on a 16x32 baseplate. Together they form a modern ensemble of different modern and contemporary architectural styles and enrich the style of the original modulars.

The white building is characterized by various modernist stylistic elements like big windows in different forms with brise soleil (fixed horizontal sun blockers), minimalist and functional forms with white walls and bare grey concrete, terraces on every floor and a roof garden. Some contemporary elements like the big facade greening and the photovoltaics on top were added.

On the ground floor is a well equipped architecture office and the entrance to the two-storey apartment above. A straight staircase leads you to the entrance hall of the apartment, from where you can enter the first terrace and the bathroom through a sliding door. Going one step up you reach the modern kitchen and dining area. A wall out of glass building blocks creates an optical connection between bathroom and kitchen. One half of the big window to the road can slide open.

By a winded staircase you can reach the upper more private part of the apartment with another slidable big window. The living space is equipped with an open fireplace. To the back there's another small terrace and the bedroom with a sliding door, which hides or reveals the wardrobe. Another winded staircase brings you up to the roof terrace.

The other building with its brick facade has a more contemporary style with some industrial elements. Irregularly arranged floor-to-ceiling windows give it a modern look, which can be changed by sliding the shutters. The sloped roof and loft style interiors refer to industrial buildings.

On the ground floor is a small butcher and hotdog shop with a kitchen, a counter and a small cooling room. Beneath the shop is the entrance with a steep and slightly winded staircase leading up to the lofts, both with visible grey concrete and brick walls. The small loft above the shop has an open living and sleeping area, a kitchen in a niche and a bathroom.

By another steep and winded staircase you can reach the upper level with a bigger loft. It is slightly zoned into a dining area with a kitchen and a living area. Three steps and a ladder lead up to the mezzanine under the roof, above the bathroom and staircase.

Both buildings are completely modular with pin connections, the different levels can be taken apart, the roof of the brick building is foldable.
