Design Process of Golf Course Transit
When I go about designing a decorative piece I try to write down a list of what should appear in the build. My list consist of three things
1. focal point of the build - in this case I chose a Golf Cart,
2. a fun simple accessory - a bag for your golf clubs,
3. the setting - in game transit.
With my plan set it finally came to bringing my creation to life, first I went to designing the cart and after spending some time researching and picking an appropriate model for my inspiration I began to put it together piece by piece starting from the base and building up, checking available colours, testing how the shapes are turning out, experimenting with different accent colours all while trying to stay as close to the characteristic elements of a typical golf cart as possible. I was coming back to it until the build was ready and I was satisfied with how it turned out, with that the cart was finished and I was ready to move onto the next point on my list.
A golf club bag, even though it's not a complicated build I wanted it to be an eye-catcher that wouldn't outshine the cart. With that in mind I went for simplicity for both the bag and the clubs. In the end the vibrant colour of the bag compliments the simplicity of it's design.
Finally the last point on the list and simultaneously the most important one - the setting. Instead of going for the obvious and building a mostly flat piece of land littered with hills and surrounded by rough grass I decided on portraying a quiet moment in which you can unwind from the competition, stop for a moment, sit on a bench, eat your lunch and listen to the faraway game that otherwise you would miss or maybe shift your attention to the distant noise of people practising their shots.
