Solitary symmetrical towers are a bit boring, aren't they? What if you add a mini stable? Now there's a horse ready to carry urgent messages. And if you add a couple of circular corner balconies with nice conical roofs? Now it looks more complex and sophisticated. How about a ballista on the battlements? Everybody loves war machines, it gives power to the building. But it still lacks something, maybe a bit of everyday life? Then you have to add a living floor with different accessories. Uhmm, maybe it lacks also some plant and animal life (with permission of the horse of course), let's add some wild vines embracing the whole building. And an owl as a pet? why not, cats and dogs are very typical.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

This is the first time I design something exclusively from scratch for a Bricklink program so I focused on something of minifigure scale with a multitude of details and textures but without losing the playable elements. While I was thinking, Tower Defense video games came to my mind, so I mixed several concepts in one to offer a very versatile design that people could easily modify and create good stories with. Always keeping in mind that it should be something uncommon but at the same time popular. I wanted to add some symbolism so I thought that the owl symbolizes vigilance and the function of this tower is to watch and contain the enemy. You can see the concept included in the coat of arms of the facade or even a relief with his head on the balcony on the 3rd floor. 

FUNCTIONS:

The building consists of a modular system that allows it to be easily assembled and disassembled in segments (It even supports more extra floors if you want to add a personal touch). The stable roof and upper corner balcony are also modular so they are easily customizable. The third floor is fully habitable and one of the walls can be turned to the outside. The top floor includes a fully articulated ballista to recreate impressive scenes. As the horse saddle is not on the palette I have created my own alternative for the messenger to be able to ride the horse.
