Introduction
"Konnichiwa", everyone! Welcome to my new sushi restaurant. Come in, don't be afraid. Here, you can try my homemade sushi (including salmon roll and nigiri), and tamagoyaki. If you're not hungry, no problem—I've got some tasty teas heated up on my cool Japanese charcoal fireplace, called irori. Our place is cozy, and we make each dish with care and love. So, sit down, relax, and enjoy the warm vibes from the fireplace!"
About the project
Hello, I'm Thomas, and I'm thrilled to present my latest creation to you. Since my childhood, I've been fascinated by Japanese culture and always wanted to build something out of LEGO bricks. The sushi restaurant was a natural choice for me, and I'm excited to finally bring it to life as part of the Bricklink Designer Program.
Drawing inspiration from countless real-life references and manga representations, I've crafted this fictional Japanese sushi restaurant, featuring over 3000 bricks and 6 minifigures. To keep it playable, I divided the building into two equal parts, allowing full access to the interior.
On the lower floor, you'll find the kitchen area, some restaurant tables, and a dedicated room for a traditional fire pit called “irori”. The main dining area is on the first floor, featuring a variety of decorations such as a katana, a flower-filled table (known as Ikebana), and a small heater. A ladder provides access to the second floor, where the domestic staff resides. This floor includes a futon bed, a small ofuro bath, and traditional Japanese accessories like a small bonsai, a stone lantern (ishidoro), as well as traditional musical instruments (koto and shamisen). Outside, you will find a bamboo water spout and cute flower trees.
I hope you enjoy this creation inspired by the uniqueness of Japanese culture. If you like it, feel free to support and share some love in the comments section!
