Modern House

🏡 A house is more than four walls and a roof. It is a shelter, a home, a memory box. It is a precious place that houses our daily lives. Sometimes it can also be a work of art.

📐 When I was younger, I wanted to be an architect. I designed a thousand and one houses, but I was crazy about size... They looked like castles or hotels because there were so many rooms and bedrooms. Today, I am reviving this love from my youth and presenting you with the Modern House.

🧱 What better way to build a house than with LEGO bricks?

🏗️ The house is built on three levels which are removable - to allow accessibility - as modular buildings do.

1️⃣ The first level is actually a basement. The house is built on a rock in which this first level is built. Its rooms are rather dedicated to leisure. First, there is a garage with a removable and functional door. A car can be parked there. At the back, there is a workbench for DIY and a small storeroom with an electrical cabinet and a few things piled up, such as a surfboard, rackets or boxes containing a forgotten VHS.

🎮 From the garage, it is possible to access the house. There is a large living room with a flat screen TV, speakers and a video game console. A large fireplace is built into the wall for cosy evenings by the fire. There is also a desk with a computer. A small storage room, adjacent to the room, is used to store mattresses for camping in this beautiful house.

🌲 Outside there are trees, a waterfall that will remind many people of the Fallingwater or Kaufmann House by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

🚪 A large staircase leads to the entrance of the main level.

2️⃣ On this level - level 2 of the building - there is an entrance that leads to: the kitchen and dining room, the living room, the bathroom and the stairs.The kitchen is fully equipped and its fridge and cupboards are full of surprises!

🛋️ The living room has two sofas for tea and a music corner with a vinyl turntable for music lovers.

🛀 The bathroom also has everything you need: a spacious shower cubicle, wall-hung WC, washbasin... everything you need to make yourself clean and beautiful!

3️⃣ On the 3rd level, there is a master suite and dressing room on one side and a gallery with a view over the living room on the other. In the gallery, one can enjoy a small reading corner, a painting corner and access to a terrace.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The Modern House is completed with four minifigures: a family consisting of a father and his dog, whom he likes to walk in nature; a mother who likes to devote herself to painting; a child who likes to climb onto a terrace to watch birds through his binoculars; and a child who likes to skateboard and tinker on the workbench of the garage.

🏞️ This Modern House is imagined as a building made of raw materials: stone, wood, glass, etc. to get lost in a forest.
