The Story
The sun is setting sooner and sooner. The leaves are changing color. And there’s a chill in the air. Fall is coming. The perfect season for camping! Join a father and daughter as they head out in their family’s vintage camper on their annual autumn trip.
The Features
Welcome to Camping Adventure, where memories are made and family traditions are forged.
This quaint autumn scene is the embodiment of fall, and adorable snapshot of a classic family vacation.
The two-toned vintage style camper exterior features a functioning door, attached awning, A/C unit, laundry rack, and tap. Inside, it’s campy-cozy, with all the usual amenities you’d expect – including a kitchen with a stove, sink, and utensils; a minifigure sized bed, and even extra storage space!
Outside, the camper is parked on its own perfect slice of autumn. The entire scene includes a tree with changing-colored leaves – a few of which have already fallen and made a home around the campsite.
You’ll also find typical woodland creatures like a bird, squirrel, and a couple butterflies. Camping comfort items like a bike, functional camping chair, and extra wood. And of course, a campfire and marshmallow roasting supplies!

Hi there!
I'm Joshua Kingma, also known as KingCreations on BrickLink. I live in Michigan, USA and have been a lifelong fan of LEGO sets!
My LEGO journey began, as with many, by playing with it as a kid. I particularly enjoyed LEGO City and Creator sets, but loved to get any set I could! Although my time spent with LEGO bricks ebbed and flowed throughout the years, I really started to get into the hobby again only a handful of years ago when I began experimenting with the idea of creating my own custom builds. I started with Lego Digital Designer and later moved to using Studio and BrickLink once I discovered their capabilities.
Initially, I mostly designed vehicles and buildings that I wanted to use for a custom LEGO city, but the introduction of the BrickLink Designer Program encouraged me to design more types of builds. Since then, I've designed over a dozen entries for the program, varying in size and theme. Two of my entries, Fairview Park & Stables and Inn, were a part of BrickLink's MOC Pop-Up Store in 2023.
I was thrilled to have Camping Adventure chosen as a finalist, and I'd like to thank you all for your support for the model! Having the chance for one of my designs to become an official product has genuinely been a dream come true.
How do you find inspiration for your designs? What inspired this BDP set in particular?
Inspiration can come from anywhere! I've found inspiration from real-life buildings and vehicles, events, fellow Lego designers, social media, and even movies. Camping Adventure was inspired by frequent camping trips that my family had growing up. Although our camping setup looked different, the set started with the idea of making a two-tone vintage camper, something I haven't seen much of in LEGO sets before. I wanted the camper to be part of a larger scene, and I thought that an autumn-inspired display with vegetation and a campfire would make for a lovely combination.
What was the first set you ever built? Which one is your favorite? What is one set you would love to see being made?
I don't know for sure what my first set was, but one of the earliest sets I remember having is Police Car 7236. I also remember my family having Indy Transport 6335, which was a great set to play with! Parisian Restaurant 10243 will always be special to me. It's the first 18+ set I was able to get after wanting it for years and it fueled my return to the LEGO system. As far as a set I'd love to see made, I'm a big fan of the new medieval sets that the LEGO Group has been bringing back, so I'd love to see either more LEGO Icons sets bringing back more old factions or another full castle theme!
How would you describe your building style? Do you usually design sets within a certain theme?
I tend to design mostly vehicles and buildings and usually try to incorporate some amount of nature or vegetation into my builds. I started out designing builds that could fit in a modern city layout, but I've started to experiment with builds that fall into other themes such as medieval, pirates, and fantasy for BDP.
How would you describe your role in the LEGO fan community? Have you been to any LEGO community events or conventions? If so, what were they like?
I would say that my role in the LEGO community is relatively small as I haven't been a presence in it for long, but I hope that my builds can put a smile on others' faces through BDP or through my Instagram account (@kingcreationslego)! I haven't had the chance to check out any conventions, but I hope to whenever I can!
What do you think makes a BDP set successful?
Paying attention to the story of the model, such as what details and features can be added to make your model more lively, playable, and cohesive.
What advice would you give to the next set of hopeful BDP designers?
There is no one single path to success with BDP. Build what you are inspired to build you never know where it will take you!
