About the Design:

This design was inspired by a single brick, technic brick 59807 (crane harbor derrick 16 with double attachment). Unfortunately this part was unavailable in both the desired color as well as the parts available, and I was therefore driven to use standard bricks to create the slight angular base to the red lattice support on the front of the hospital.

My desire for this build was to create something that would be fitting and realistic in a street setting, while also having a more modern approach in its architectural design. Additionally it was important to include several services most hospitals employ, from lobbies to operating rooms. However, in order to fit everything it needed and also maintain the ability to move from floor to floor, I figured an elevator was the only solution. The elevator went through multiple reworks to ensure it could fit a stretcher, as well as “lock” at every floor with a rotating technic beam design. Similarly, the ambulance went through many design changes with the first being too big to fit into the garage! This build has been in the making for a while, with multiple reworks and tests for structural durability, employing many hodgepodge physical builds.

All told, this build greatly rounds out and adds to the existing line of modular buildings while bringing in a new concept yet approached in the lineup so far. I am humbled to present you this labor of love, and I hope that it fulfills all your hospital needs!

Happy building!

Stephen
