Forest Fortress

The Idea

Every kingdom has a forest and in every forest there is a gang of outlaws! The classic LEGO Forestmen theme captured this notion of wild but friendly bandits and outlaws perfectly. While there recently were two sets that focused on the Lion Knights and the Black Falcons there is still no big castle themed set for forest outlaws!

The Build

The centrepiece of the "Forest Fortress" is an old and abandoned stone tower that was repurposed by the outlaws as the keep of their newly built wooden castle. The high tower is surrounded by a wooden palisade, a wooden house, a gatehouse and trees that are connected by bridges. Underneath the castle there is a stone basement, which also comes with a fortified gate and a hidden escape door.

The castle can be split into 4 sections to gain better access to both the interior of the castle and the basement underneath the tower.

The "Forest Fortress" comes with 7 minifigures (5 outlaws and 2 knights) and 1 horse.

Features:

1. A Gatehouse with fully functional drawbridge
2. A wooden house with arrow slits and a fireplace
3. Two trees with platforms connected by a brick-built rope bridge
4. A two-storey fully modular stone tower with a raisable bridge and a trapdoor that leads to the basement
5. A small market stand with an archery target
6. A fortified side entry that leads to the underground cave/ basement
7. An underground cave/ basement underneath the tower which is connected to the main castle by a staircase and can be easily accessed through the hidden boulder entrance in the back of the castle
