Take a trip down to The Banana Hut and grab yourself a fresh cup of delicious Brick Banana Smoothie! This legendary roadside vendor is famous throughout Lego city, not only as an a-peeling photo op for fans of giant fruit, but also for its super secret smoothie recipe. Visit on fruity Friday to get 2 for 1 smoothies and a banana free!
Inspired by roadside attractions and similar novelty food stands, I designed The Banana Hut as a place for dispensing fresh banana smoothies which could fit in and stand out in a Lego City, or make an excellent standalone desk model. I also wanted to make sure it was complete from all angles, such that from the rear it appears simply to be a brick built banana. The two ends of the banana are built around a fairly complex core build which was designed to clip into place at the exact right angle allowing the build to be as smooth as possible, while also capturing the familiar shape of a banana! On the outside, I made use of a variety of curved and slope pieces, including several relatively new or recently recoloured bricks. I think it makes for a fun build with a striking, unique appearance and would be a must have for fans of brick built fruit, roadside attractions and bananas.
