I think it would make sense to use the 1x1 plate for very light gray since it
would match the surrounding parts, and the part used here is very busy and full
of other colors.
I'm glad to see that the purple and pink categories are correct, unlike PAB.
The option to filter by year is nice too. I love the separation of non-standard
colors.

Overall its a very good job but I also agree that using as many of the same part
molds as possible would make things look cleaner and better for comparisons particularly
where colours are similar
For instance we currently have Flat Silver represented by a random technic type
connector whilst Metallic Silver is represented by a Dwarven helmet.
I wonder whether a more widely owned and known part such as the classic 3844
Nasal Helmet or similar might be a better image representation for these colours?

Thank you for the feedback. The 1 x 1 plate was not used for Very Light Gray
because it is not considered a "standard" color. There is a possibility
we could change it so something more completely gray.
Images in the color guide are expected to gradually change as users continue
to submit excellent photographs and renders, and as the parts are used differently
over time.

What? There's literally a set that comes with multiple shades of gray, including
very light gray. A rectangular part would be a lot better example, than a rounded
Primo piece!

that typo there already? Or did it get added when mmake was fixed, whac-a-mole

We still have some doubled up colors, don't we? The color guide just picks
one LEGO color for Pearl Gold and Flat Silver.
Yes, at the moment our Color Guide only has the capability for one-to-one mapping.
The internal color names and numbers are provided as a handy reference, especially
for users coming to us from Pick A Brick and affiliate fan sites such as Brickset.

That’s what I qualified as “antiquated”
This spelling’s only in use for heraldry (where they use a lot of French words
/ spelling) and it’s not for the now common azure colour but for blue.
(Like sable means black; sinople, green (while modern sinople is red!); etc.)

both portrait and landscape mode. In addition to the text beyond the edges being
inaccessible regardless of whether I zoom in or out, none of the controls seem
to do anything. It is not useable at all. And yes, my phone has had recent
updates.
Please tell me the old page is still accessible somewhere.

I kept a link to the old colour guide and whilst it uses a different address
it does also now link to the new guide:-
Either way no point keeping what is no longer needed However there are plenty
of other third party colour guides you can use for comparison should you feel
the need?

Do you mind sharing device model and browser? Also if using Desktop view or not?
For me on Android with Chrome and Edge this new page is working good.

It is an iPhone 8 that still (miraculously) runs the latest OS. I’m using Safari
for the browser. Every other page on BL works fine (as well as all other websites).
I tried both mobile and desktop mode and it looks the same. While I don’t use
the color guide that often, my concern is that this glitch forebodes future glitches
on more important pages; I’m sure the color guide page change is only the beginning.

I really don't like this new color guide. It is very hard for me to list
a specific part now if you start with "black". Why does this have to
be so confusing? It will take me a while to list something now. Can it change
back to the original? It was used for over 15 years or so since I have been a
member on here. It worked just fine too. Very simple.

Not a happy person
Can you explain specifically the process you were used to that isn't working

I haven't tried everything yet, but except for things not going straight

better than going through 334 pages ( eg white) when looking for pieces in white,
I hope your bringing the Category Summary for every color

I agreee with you miss the direct go to categories. I would like it for all colors
not as it were before just the ones with 500+ items. . And also I have to scroll
a lot to get to the right color the old one were much more compressed and you
got a better overhead look. Otherwise thank you for putting work into upgrading
the site much appreciated.

Hi David, thank you for your comments. There are several things you can do to
reduce scrolling:
1) Click on Compact View to fit more lines on your screen,
2) Quickly jump down the page using the collapsible section headers,
3) Employ the use of one or more filters - active colors, color families, standard
colors, color name keyword, etc.

On the new color guide, is it possible to save the configuration I choose to

Unfortunately, I have seen their responses-they are what I call "lip service"-standard
company responses to complaints. We have read your complaint, we acknowledge
your issue, have notified the tech department to examine it. As usual the tech
department who designed the page doesn't see anything wrong with their work.
It functions as they designed it. Hence the double down with the social media
campaign to enlighten all the users to how "great" the new page is.
We’re excited to announce that the catalog team has released an updated, mobile-friendly
Color Guide with new filtering and sorting options, as well as the addition of
LEGO® color names.
Please change the search "Color name"to "Color name (or ID)"
This way we could search also a BrickLink or LEGO color ID.
Example, here searching for 86 (BrickLink's Light Bluish Gray).
From time to time, working with an XML showing 86 it'd be
convenient to quickly find the corresponding color.
And no, using the browser find CTRL+F may not work, like searching for "3"
would bring many numbers, like 13, 23, 33 or a number of parts... whatever.
