My son built it years ago (he's 19 now) from instructions and pieces. I don't
have the instructions. Not sure if it was from a LEGO in-store event but this
wasn't an online MOC or something he built himself.

There are a lot of in-store events that are missing from the catalog. They generally
aren't eligible.

to instructions.
