| First of 1,000 posts I'm sure. The new search bar just rolled out. Please
consider either making the search text field larger and/or placing it above/below
the other drop downs? Sometimes searches will be really long "red torso armor
dark red arms yellow hands" or whatever and the small search bar makes it
more difficult to see what you typed.
We have so much horizontal space dedicated to Bricklink Designer Program and
Community and this tiny space for search.
I know you'll get a flurry of complaints on this, I'm not against any
and all change but this specific aspect affects usability of the search feature
so I think it is a valid concern.
Thanks.

| I can't say I'm a huge fan of having to do this and adding extra clicks
when the search bar already exists right at the top of every screen on BL.
Also, for an example search of "red torso red arms yellow hands", the
search function on the catalog page returns this torso: 973pb2326c01 because
it has "big RED apple" in the name of the torso. In the top search bar,
using the wording "red torso...." with the word red right before the
word torso, restricts the results to only torsos that are marked as the color
red in the catalog. Not any torso that has the word "red" in the description.
I know I'm a dinosaur in how I search for parts, I guess let's see if
there are any other users who feel the same way.
Thanks for the response though Russell I know Bricklink changes aren't going
to satisfy everyone. Trying to be objective here about something I think should
be modified.

If you want to use a "heavier" search, I would recommend the pure Catalog
search on this page:

Additionally, I'm finding that clicking the text suggestions in the search
drop down don't actually fill the text suggestion, and simply search whatever
is in the box currently.

It's almost working better!
I can search for 3001!
But I can search and find "Red 3001" but not "3001 Red".
We're finally around 2010 in serach technology, yay, that's a progress!

Don't want to get too off topic but depending on what you're looking
for if you do "3001* + red" you get all the printed/stickered variations
of a 2x4 brick with a red pattern (or at least, described with the word red in
the catalog item name).
