| Recently had an order where I left out 1 peice and apparently miscolored another
one. Normally with those situations I just refund the wrong parts. But the buyer
asked if I would send the right ones, and they also asked for 2 free additional
pieces. I was feeling Christmassy so I just said sure. I'd had a great sales
day, so losing a few bucks on that one was no big deal.
But then today, this person messaged me to tell me that one of the FREE pieces
I sent them was the wrong color. I replied politely but explained that I'd
already sent replacements and free pieces and lost money paying shipping, so
I can't send out any more.
This person has ample feedback so I feel like they should know better, you know?
I'm awaiting the response but just wondering - should they decide to be petty
and leave me a negative or something - do I have any recourse with it, other
than leaving a negative back?
I'm changing my policy page to state that mistakes will be refunded, not
replaced. In the almost year I've been doing this, only one other person
has asked for the correct part to be sent, and it was a hard to find part from
a large order so I felt fine about that.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Mel

That buyer is, in my opinion, taking advantage of your kindness. You can't
keep spending $5 to send one free piece. I think you handled it well.
Unfortunately, there is very little you can do if you get a negative. I have
a feeling this is the end of the transaction, and you would not get a negative
review.

Always good to send the part when possible!

they may have just been wanting to make you aware perhaps, incase you needed
to correct your inventory if it was a part taken from your inventory.

sent the parts.

sorry I should have clarified, what I meant it when they received the free parts
and realized 1 was the wrong colour, they may have messaged you so that if it
was from your inventory you could then correct it. unless your saying that they
requested in the message for you to then ship them the correct colour of the
free part

| I think he handle like a pro. I have a few orders that have been wrong and it
sucks sometimes cause you might need that piece. Most of the time if it is just
a small cheap piece I will just let them know just so they know in case they
get someone that thanks you can never make a mistake.

Have they come back to you after you sent that? Or did they ask for more in that
email? If they don't say what more they want, I'd leave it. If they expect
more, I'd stoplist them.
However their intention might have been just to warn you that you have more parts/colours
listed incorrectly as a heads up so you can correct them.

IF the wrong piece was the piece that I was most interested and the rest was
mostly just to meet the minimum or maximize value for my shipping I would want
you to send the correct piece. Otherwise a refund would be fine with me. I
would not expect extra parts.
