Fairly large store for sale with 151,005 pieces with a retail value of $21,098.21.
Also included are any drawer units and containers that they are currently stored
in. I also have some 2 shelve shoe racks that I used as a base for the drawer
units (see picture) that can be included if you want to use the same setup. Great
for anyone who wants to kickstart a new store or add to an existing one with
a large variety of pieces. Send a message with any questions or offers.

Do you have any minifigures you’d sell?

I'm looking to sell everything atm. If I can't get a price I like then
I'd be open to selling off some minifigs. Feel free to take a look at my
store and see what you'd want.

Your store is locked, do you have a bypass password for people to be able to
look at your store? you could disable all shipping methods so that people couldn't
automatically buy from you.

So what if I bought all your minifigures and minifigure parts? I just don’t want
the random parts cause it’d be to much for me to keep up with.

Also the items are near Chicago and not in Texas anymore, I haven't updated

I was wondering about that. Your user card says Texas and your store card says
Illinois, so I guess now we know!

When you say retail value of $21,098, is that the 6-month average price for the
parts?

Had a buyer fall through for $15,000 every other offer was super low so tell
you what $14,000 takes it all. the $21,100 listed value of parts, minifigs and
stickers plus 32 drawer units of various sizes also baggies that I use to ship
the pieces in. If I don't get that much then I'll just reopen the store
and make the $7,100 myself. I understand that any buyers need to make money off
this and it should be more than enough profit for someone for just adding a ton
of stuff to your store and doing what you normally do.

Dont forget that someone who buy a store will need to do quality control on all
the pieces , count/sort everything and list it all. and all the parts you have
listed as new must now also be listed as used since the person taking over your
inventory cannot verify that the parts came from sealed sets/pab.

New Parts - Parts are brand new, taken directly from new sets or were purchased
as New in another form such as accessory packs or Pick a Brick and have been
handled only for sorting.

Since I am not the one taking the parts out of the sealed bags/pab I cannot guarantee
they are new and so I cannot list them as new.

Your interpretation of what new parts are is way too strict.

I agree, if the seller is reputable and you find nothing to belive otherwise
once
it's been purchased, then it's all good. for example, I've placed
many
orders at Helges (my favourite store on bricklink!) for new parts, i then use
the parts needed on figures and the remainder will be listed as new

You don't have to personally guarantee that the items are from sealed bags
or pick a brick in order to list them as new.

Well as I have personally opened every set myself I can guarantee that everything
in the store came from sealed product.

in. I also have some 2 shelve shoe racks that I used as a base for the drawer
units (see picture) that can be included if you want to use the same setup. Great
for anyone who wants to kickstart a new store or add to an existing one with
a large variety of pieces. Send a message with any questions or offers.

I understand that any buyers need to make money off
this and it should be more than enough profit for someone for just adding a ton
of stuff to your store and doing what you normally do.

in general, stores' inventories only sell for roughly 30% of the 6-month
average

Yes, also what everything is listed for in the store.

In general sellers hope to get roughly 30% of the 6-month average, I'd guess
when they actual sell it is not quite that high.

This 30% figure is often cited in the forum. Where does it come from?

I would rather throw my inventory into the dumpster than sell get robbed by selling
it for for 30%.

Because as a seller you are usually buying stock at 3:1 part out ration, as a
minimum if it's used. Why would you buy out a store and pay more for stock
than this.

Depends on the inventory of the store up for sale. For example, you're not
paying me 30% for these:

True, but if I bought your store I'd be getting 350 steering wheels that
I'd never sell....

If you are cashing out due to a house move or change in circumstances and need
your stock gone quickly, 30% will probably cover your cost price of all your
parts.

Yeah, they're coming out my ears over here

I'm not questioning the validity of the 30% figure itself, I'm sure it's
good for certain stores and under certain circumstances.

Just don't understand why it's always cited every time this is discussed
as if it's an immutable law of nature.

it follows the general "rules" of selling Lego. when you look at a set
to partout you usually avoid anything under (roughly within like .5x) a 3x return.
yes, there are exceptions for higher-value items but in general, that's what
stores usually end up selling for. if a seller is presented with either 1, spend
$10k and buy 100 copies of a $100 set which part out for $30k total or option
2 spend $10k on $30k of picked thru inventory then it isn't worth it to purchase
the store as the sets are a much better option. plus from talks with people on
and off bricklink, usually with people who have bought and sold store(s), that
is usually the rough area they go for.

the "roughly within .5x" applies to the other numbers as well so like
spend $10k - $25k etc.*

Yeah i'm just gonna reopen and make the 100%. Figured I'd offer someone
a chance to make 6-7k without having to hunt for new product.

Most sellers would probably rather invest 14K in new product and list those parts
at 28K or more than spend the same amount on a store inventory that's already
been picked over.

Oh it's very simple.
And it's even less than 30%, I've seen around 20%.

While percentages may vary a bit, here's the idea.

Say an hypothetic shop has a 10,000$ (selling price, net without tax) inventory.

1) The "pack" effect. The whole is sold as a pack. As a buyer an important
part of the pack I'm not interested in. Like Bionicle, or Slopes, or Medium
Azure parts. The other problem is parts I'm interested in, but I already
have enough of them. But as it's sold as a pack, I can't cherry pick,
so I'm buying what I wouldn't have bought.

In short and often, count 50% you wouldn't buy so it has literally no value.
So the 10,000$ shop is already 5,000$.

2) The "discount or margin" effect. As he spends a pile of money, the
buyer expects a discount. Or the buyer being a seller, he wants to make a margin
on what he buys.

So the 5,000$ he'd buy it for 2,500$ to hope making a margin of 100%.

Here we go: 2,500$ for a 10,000$ shop, that's the famous 25%.

Now remove the shipping or the truck rental and the trip and you're closer
to 20%.

Which is why I already said, if you wish to get rid of a bunch of inventory,
it's often more interesting to make progressive but aggressive sales, like
33, 50 up to 75% in the end.

This will quickly sell a lot - and what remains sell it as lots on Lists or eBay
per pound or such.

You'll have probably make more money than selling the whole at 20%.
