| Hi there,
I recently opened a new store here on the site to sell my collection of LEGO.
I have added 80 sets to it - Some of them at very competitive prices.
However I haven't yet made a sale or even had contact with potential customers.
I have added shipping and payment methods as well as terms on my store, but nothing
has happened yet.
How long should it generally take for me to make my first sale?
Will people generally not buy from new stores?
Is there a problem with payment or something like that?
I hope someone can help me so I can get things going

| Hi, you may find it takes a while for people to visit, I think there is a way
to send emails to people who have your products on there wanted list.
Stick with it it will happen.
Best of Luck

| I have looked at you shop stock which is amazing by the way, but is quite expensive,
I aim for 50% RRP or 60% of average used price if you wish to shift a lot of
items, the majority of people want something for nothing in this world so you
may need to take less than you think you need to move stuff on.
Hope this Helps

All the sets I checked were slightly under average sold price so I don't
think that's a problem.
Charging extra for Paypal is more of an issue for me though.

Thanks for the advice to both of you - I will get rid of the fees.

| You only accept PayPal and you charge a percentage fee to pay by PayPal. That
will put some people off. Just add the percentage fee that all buyers are charged
to your prices.

Thanks for helping out!
I will adjust my prices and get rid of the fee.
Am I correct that I can only accept PayPal and Stripe to begin with?
And do you have any experience with people actually using Stripe?
Have a great weekend.

In fact, people don't have to use Stripe.
The seller uses Stripe, but for the buyer it's just an interface where they
pay using Credit/Debit Card, Mastercard, and maybe some other ways to pay the
order - I'm not sure how many features BrickLink implemented.
Note also it's less expensive (for the seller) to provide Stripe. And like
PayPal, it's free of charge for the buyer.
In short, it's VERY convenient, and wonder why so few sellers use it.

Used sets generally take longer to sell than parts.
Most people don't like extra fees like yorbrick said and in most European
countries it's actually against the PayPal tos to charge a specific fee for
paypal (they even tell you to work it in your prices)

Congratulations! A buyer that I know very well (OK, it was me) just ordered 3
sets from your shop.
Your store terms are very clear and well worded. A request for extra pictures
was immediately honoured with high res pics.
Good luck with the selling of the rest of your collection!

Personally I find the comments on your items in your store to be above and beyond
what is required for potential buyers. I believe you have done a great job.
Not sure about the 3% fee. Generally speaking Sellers don't add that 3%,
but often increase their average prices a few percent to cover those fees and
state they wont charge any further fees.
Lego is like anything else it has a slow and fast season to put it bluntly. Right
now things should pick up. July-September is generally slow. May has big runs
on Star Wars items. If that makes sense.
You have not done anything wrong. Be patient. Best of luck to you, I would buy
from you if you were in Canada.

Thank you very much for the kind words and guidance!
I just made my first sale, so you are absolutely right - Patience is key!
I will reconsider my fees, it is probably better to just include like you suggested.
I hope things will pick up in the coming months with Christmas right around the
corner!
Thank you and have a great weekend.

| Just as a point of comparison, I have roughly the same number of used sets that
you have. They're probably not as in-demand, but they are probably priced
a bit cheaper.
I average selling 1 or 2 sets a month, so it's going to either take a very
long time for you to sell out your collection, or you'll need to keep dropping
your prices.

Thank you for the comparison, I really appreciate it - It can be a bit hard to
figure out the turnover rate of sets even with the average pricing system available
here on BL.
I will consider lowering prices on some og my sets to get them sold faster
Best of luck to you, your store looks great to be honest!
