| When I try and checkout, I click check out, it puts me to lego.com checkout,
reloads, and sends me to the homepage with nothing in my cart. I'm using
Edge.

Indeed, the BDP sets are produced by LEGO, and sold & shipped by LEGO.com.
Have you tried logging on LEGO.com before clicking the links on BL?

It gives silly results.

I would not worry about the "guard," I'd be more worried about that
computer, looks like it is frozen, no changes for over 3 hours.

Once you select what you want to purchase from the Bricklink Program Series page
as you correctly note, you get directed to Lego.com.
That is exactly what should occur.
Everytime a new series comes online its very normal to experience a small delay
or even a lag, given the amount of traffic.
What should occur once redirected to Lego.com a small delay then what you selected
from Series 3 BDP will appear in your Lego.com cart.
For example when I ordered this morning, I suffered some minor delays. But delays
are always dependant on your ISP speeds and indeed the hardware/applications
you are using also.
Once you select what you want to order....go make a coffee and come back, it
will be in your cart and you checkout in Lego.com as per normal.
Lego.com will debit your account for the cost of the sets you order immediately,
they will then refund your money in about 2 weeks, also very normal. Once the
sets are ready to ship in 6 months Lego.com will contact you again and advise
they are seeking payment for the readied sets.
What you are experiencing happens to me everytime new BDP sets come to market.
Its ok.
