| Hello,
I will change from seller to buyer.
I now my last or all buyers musttake their orders received must have status either
completed or cancelled before you can unregister.
Not all do this and not all orders I can take them, longer as some month 2-3.
How long I must wait until the last order? 2 month, 6 or one year?
best regards
Matthias

Hi,
If there are not “problem orders” (NSS, NPB), then their details are purged after
6 months.
So I’d say 6 months….

You can close your store and remain technically a buyer and nothing is hurt that
I am aware of.

You can still buy from other stores as a seller.

If you keep the store closed and there is not really any difference between being
a buyer only and a buyer and seller. The only difference I can think of is that
you cannot see a list of stores that have stoplisted you if you are a seller,
so not really a big deal.
Plus, if you keep the store closed, you can always start again if you have something
to sell in future. Whereas if you deregister as a store, then you will have to
go through all the checks in place at the time of wanting to start again.

You don't need to "downgrade".
Simply close your shop with a text explaining you're permanently closed,
and buy as you were a buyer. That's it.
Later on revert to buyer when it's possible.

The reply seems to be: it depends (of the status/purge of current orders).
In short, forget it in between, buy as a seller/buyer, and do something else?

as slyvian mentioned it’s 6-months after the most recent order that isn’t marked
as complete was placed, then as long as you have no orders currently in a problems
status (such as nss, npb, etc) you can then change away from seller status. The
other users were simply stating that during the waiting period you can simply
close your store and then it will be the same as if you unregistered as you wait
for the timeline and then when that’s reached you can then unregister the store

A valid question, Matthias.
Some (in simply trying to be helpful) are replying with what is easily surmised
and not to what is being asked.
Seems to be the type of question/concern for which BL should have a more
definitive clarification. Gonna do some delving, see if there's anything
more specific currently offered.

Yeah, can't locate further clarification beyond what I assume you've
already been given: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=364
Complete or Cancelled status of ALL orders, and zero balance of fees owed. Straightforward
it would seem. But what the help page does not make mention of, is the Purged
order status and how it might affect the reverting process? Which if known, would
at least cap the expected timeline.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
