Product/box photos are inconsistent for set 5845. Some show one part, some show
the other.
Please state the source of this request, preferably with photos from a sealed
set or from a set that was never mixed with other bricks.
This goes for your change for set 5846 as well (although it seems reasonable
to assume the 16L part due to the length of the sail).

| Dear Jan,
sorry I cannot provide photos from a sealed set or a never mixed set. I was actually
"un-mixing" a number of Belville sets from my wife, and found that I
had just two 16L bars left, and no 12L bars for the two sets (we still have all
instructions, therefore I knew they were from them). And, as you mentioned, the
Windsurfer Mast and Boat Mast don't fit the 12L bar, and the proportions
on the instruction images show, in my view, that they are 16L bars. This is all
"evidence" that I have, hope it still helps. I could take images of the
proportions of the sail and the bars or anything.

The Lego data stream agrees.
I don't think I was aware of the two separate pieces when I verified the
set.

As axaday also writes, this change is confirmed by LEGO's own product data,
so I have accepted this request.
The the record, I would mind seeing a photo that's it's not possible
to attach the sail to a 12L mast.
