| I have a buyer that is asking for an invoice due to a new law in Turkey. They
say any over over $30 must include a standardized invoice, which I find hard
to believe from all other countries in the world, and that the printout of our
Bricklink order detail is not sufficient.
I have been told it needs to have the total paid and the contents, which if you
ask me is exactly what the order detail page provides and I sent along in the
package as well as a PDF emailed directly to the buyer.
Would love it if anyone had some insight into this, if it is a standardized form
I would be happy to download, fill out and email to the buyer but I am at a loss
as to where to start.
I have not had an issue till now as I include an invoice on the outside of every
package that I ship internationally and that usually resolves most issues.
Thanks in advance for any contributions to this predicament.

One of the problems with the order details page is that it doesn't say it
is an invoice, I sometimes used the invoice email instead for this cases if
they want a detailed invoice. Else usually I send my own accounting software
invoice.

"Header. Make the word “invoice” clear and prominent at the top of the document
to quickly identify it as such."

But this is exactly what the BrickLink Invoice sent by e-mail says, like:
Invoice for BrickLink Order #9999999 generated on Jul 20, 2024 20:59
Order ID: #9999999
Order Date: Jul 20, 2024 20:59
Payment By: PayPal
With some use of text and macros a seller can put his VAT info, legal info, VAT
rate and amount, and everything which is needed.
Then the buyer can print it, or the seller make a PDF of it and send it...

I haven't seen one of these in a while, I require instant checkout for all
international buyers so even that email does not mention the word invoice.

You can send it only to yourself by clicking the invoice icon on the IC generated
orders.

And you can also tweak it to say "Invoice", here of course:

Yep, copy the text and macros of the other template, and you can make it say:
Invoice for BrickLink Order #9999999 generated on Jul 20, 2024 20:59
Order ID: #9999999
Order Date: Jul 20, 2024 20:59

Or whatever you wish, maybe and preferably the same on both Invoices and instant
orders.

Funny, you can do that however the bricklink terminology of invoice means and
order has been created but it hasn't been paid.
I find it more intrusive to delete the giant portion of the "invoice"
that tells the buyer how to pay vs add the single word invoice to the purchase
or paid notification of the instant checkout system.
Either way the buyer is going to attempt to collect today and see if the slightly
modified order notification email will suffice.
Really appreciate the dialog here, might even help the next person to send to
Turkey.

Yes, this makes sense. I have added "Invoice / Tax Invoice / Receipt"
to the top of the order email and sent a copy to the buyer.
This is crazy to me and still makes sense all at the same time, really appreciate
it. If this resolves it looks like I have a new step to add for all international
orders.

| FYI not sure this will happen to everyone but I was told on a $130 order customs
asked for $600 so the order will be rejected and sent back.
Needless to say after this experience I'll be shipping to one less county.

Interesting as recently (less then several months ago) I sent a $200 or so package
there with only the normal stuff and it arrived perfectly fine
