| Hi there, I finally opened up a bricklink shop, and listed my rare and valuable
minifigs and sets. shipped out my 1st sale within a day of payment, and it arrives
2 business days later 2:06pm. I then recieved negative feedback and paypal complaint
one hour later. buyer claims the minifig recieved was fake, but I'm certain
it wasnt. Am I getting scammed out of my Lego and the money?

| Someone with 47 positive feedback isn't likely a scammer but hard to tell.
Maybe he's just hoping to get partial refund which would be a way of getting
the minifigure cheaper, some people tend to do such things unfortunately.
The problem is that you can't really prove that the minifigure you sent is
not fake unless you have pictures of it pre-shipment.
Buyer still can grab a fake one and show pictures of it claiming it's the
one you sent. Hard to prove it's not.
I would definitely ask for pictures.

If the buyer did this frequently, then I would imagine that they would have received
at least one negative feedback for it. But that doesn't appear to be the
case here.
Where did you buy the figure from originally? What do you mean by you are certain
it wasn't a fake? Did you check before listing it for sale? If it wasn't
taken directly from a sealed LEGO set, then did you check all the parts? Did
you buy it from a comic con type event from a stall selling loads of minifigures,
as often they sell fakes and buyers don't realise or care.

It’s by no means a “normal” thing. I’ve sold many “high” dollar figures and have
never been scammed. Like another user mentioned are you sure that it was real?
What was the figure in question? Did it have the lego logo on the top of the
torso?

| uh-oh. the only authenticity i was checking was making sure the printings matched
the online photos... I am just now learning about the lego marking on top of
the torso and under the feet. Whats worse, is that my old Boba fett helmet/jet
piece doesnt have any lego logos. It came from ebay about ten years ago, as did
the deadpool currently in dispute. Looks like both me and the buyer attributed
to malice events that could better be explained by my ignorance. Is it reasonable
for me to still ask for it back, so my son and i can play with a cheapo deadpool?
or, do these fakes have to go to somesort of authority/disposal? eitherway, gotta
refund the buyer and redo some inventory. good news is that the other 3 listings
i already sold, i had opened from the original boxes myself. So atleast those
wont have the same issue. Thanks yall!

old headgear quite often dont have any logos so you should be good

deadpool is 100% one of the most faked minifigures ever + its real versions have
often been called fake so that one can often be a troublesome figure

you can ask for it to be returned yes, its quite "standard" to have the
item returned in exchange for a refund.

best of luck! btw when listing used figures (or parts) its always best to check
them very carefully when listing, things like cracks on the torso (front, sides,
or back), legs, head, etc can be difficult to spot if you dont have a good lighting/checking
setup

Generally if you send something to a person that they didn't order, they
get to keep it; but it doesn't hurt to ask. Give a full refund and send the
buyer a shipping label so they don't have to pay to send it back.

Sure you can ask for the fake to be returned, but you should pay the return postage.
It is probably not worth it though. It is often cheaper to buy a fake from China
including postage than pay for domestic postage.

I would not worry about getting the figure back, just have the buyer get rid
of it, you would have to pay shipping back and it's not worth the price of
return shipping.
You did the correct thing and I hope the buyer realizes you did not mean to send
a fake, and it was an honest mistake and changes the feedback.
Awesome of you to step up and admit fault, you will go a long way......
