| I'm trying to upload some items from brickstore to update my inventory.
in attempting to "export" from brickstore, bricklink opens but no .xml
file transfers over.
whats the trick?
what is a .bsx file??

Warning: don't mix up mass update and mass upload.
If you're uploading, then BrickStore puts it in your clipboard, and by default,
opens the BrickLink page.
Simply click in the proper field and PASTE, then validate and check.
Note: in this page there are 2 fields, one to upload and one to update.
Simply take some time to try, read, watch vids - it's very easy in fact.

LOL - no, you asked, got a reply, then it's the opposite: you're LESS
illiterate!
Missed the bsx part: .bsx is the extension of the files created natively by BrickStore.
In short, it's a BrickStore file, inside it's an XML file which starts
to be accepted in places like BrickLink (for a wanted-list) or rebrickable (as
a inventory download), etc.
It's also how you should save locally on your PC/Cloud your Shop inventory
(to be safe), and everything you upload or change (to keep track of) - in case
one day you've a discrepency or think there's an error somewhere, you
can check your historic files and get clues...
