hi, i was purchasing some parts for my leopard tank moc; the prices for the parts
were attractive, but my gut tied itself a knot when i saw the exorbitant shipping
fees. my moc had 1500 pieces, and according to easy buy i had to buy these parts
from 7 different sellers. i live in singapore, the sellers lived in netherlands,
sweden, uk, germany etc
each of these sellers required at least a US$10 shipping fee, most were $30
or smth like that. the parts itself cost around $150, but in the end another
$100 shipping fee was added on top.
why? my parts are all small sized, with the largest piece being a 6x10 plate.
is it just because i live in singapore? idk why, this is my first time purchasing
bricks from bricklink
i might even resort to webrick if i cant resolve this

It could be because you live in Singapore - international shipping can be expensive.

It's normal, welcome to international shipping. And yes, you been in Asia
and buying in Europe is part of the reason. Try to source your Lego more localy.

I would avoid using easybuy. It's much more efficient to add all of your
parts to a wishlist, then press buy all. You will get more options and generally
speaking, better pricing.

Without knowing all detail I can tell you that shipping abroad can be expensive.
Sending a 100gr parcel (incl. weight of the box itself) with track and trace
from the Netherlands to Singapore is about USD 12,50. 500gr parcel is USD 13,50,
1kg is USD 24,00
For comparison, how much would it cost if you had to ship a 500gr parcel from
Singapore to the Netherlands?

Postage doesn't really depend on the price of the parts, it depends on their
weight and size. International postage is also expensive, especially if a seller
insists on using international tracking.
