Like everyone else, I received an email notification to change my Bricklink password.
I changed it and after I did, I received an email titled "Successfully reset
password."
The password reset worked fine, but the email that let me know it had been reset

That seems benign, only I'm not in Texas; I'm in Indiana. I imagine
that it's just a small glitch causing this, but considering that Bricklink
just had a cyber attack, a mistake like this doesn't exactly put my mind
at ease.

Now that you tell us, I remembered the location was wrong for me too but I hadn’t
really looked, I thought it was just some small error in locating my IP.
It says: Chai Nat, France.
Er, the only Chai Nat I can find is in Thailand. (No nearby or French town with
a similar name that I know of.)
That’s a bit far from me: apparently about 9500km / 5900miles. Who can beat
that?

That was fun, though!

I've tried 10 what is my ip type services. Appantly, my ip address is based
in one of:
Cardiff
Southampton
Salisbury/Tidworth
Ilford
Newbury
Maharashtra, India
6 different locations out of 10 tries. 2 didn't even get the ISP company
correct. I guess they are using different and very old and out of date databases
of IP addresses.
My IP geography can jump around a bit, but it's always in my state. I just
checked it, and it shows that I'm in Indiana, but more north than my actual
location, so even farther from Texas!
Yours goes down to a state! Lucky! Mine just said “Near Canada” 😭😭
We must have the same ISP, that is what mine says too! The only way I am near
Canada is if Washington state fell into the ocean and Oregon moved north.

It’s the problem with paper maps: you never know how to fold them back correctly
and then they get all crumpled

I've come across this before. Various methods of obscuring IP address locations
exist, presumably for site anonymity reasons. Internet Service Providers can
obscure the connecting IP address location at their discretion, it would appear,
for any reason, without disclosing it to their customers. It would be to protect
them from attacks based on location data.

You're not the only one. I actually am in Texas, but my password reset email
said "Georgia, USA". I wouldn't worry about it.
