| Hi all, Hopefully this is in the right place.
I'm looking at setting up instant checkout for my store, but I would like
to know how to change shipping prices should they be wrong (more so for when
the instant check out shipping cost is less than the actual cost of shipping)
before I go ahead and set it up.
Also if I have a large letter option, and a parcel option and someone selects
the large letter for something that won't fit, can I change that option too
after the order has been paid for since its an instant check out. How often does
this sort of thing happen?

It never gives wrong postage costs*, as it only does what you tell it to do.
If you make a mistake setting it up and it charges less for shipping than you
need to pay, then you should not charge the buyer more afterwards. You and they
agreed to the shipping price shown in instant checkout. You cannot try to get
more money afterwards.
* So long as all the data entered for the parts is correct.
You will need to ensure that you account for the dimensions and weights of your
packaging, and that all parts you list for sale have the correct dimensions.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works.
So bricklink adds up the weight of the pieces in the order, and checks the size
of the pieces and cross references that with the size and weight limits set for
each postage option and then only shows the post options to the buyer that the
weight and size of the pieces will fit into?

yes. but some of the dimensions were auto generated so they can be inaccurate
and some don't have dimensions but almost everyday new dimensions are added/old
inaccurate are fixed but due to the massive size of the catalogue and it being
volunteer work done by member likes you and me its not done yet

Personally I avoid this by having the heavier shipping options so set to manual
invoice and leave the little stuff for instant checkout
