Well, I listed one or two, clearly stating that they are cracked and hardened,
just in case someone is desperate to get one for cheap; but to be honest, I suspect
the best would be to throw them out, I don't know any way to repair that
kind of damage.
But I'm no chemist, maybe I'm wrong?

After some search this is what i find.
For cracked part there is no fix that i can find.
For softening try (from YouTube) a solution of three parts rubbing alcohol to
one part wintergreen oil. Part should be soaked between 6 hour to 7 days (test
them to determent when they are done).
Part may swell a little but will shrink back in a day or two, if you use nature
wintergreen oil no swelling should happen.
Don't have any old tires that need treatment or any rubbing alcohol & wintergreen
oil so i cant test this myself. If you test and it works (or not) let us know
about result.
