Hello All

I have item 47398 in light gray. ( I had to zoom in to get 2002 Lego Group hence
why the
color is off in the image.

Seeking your assistance to identify the set?, that this item belongs too.

Thanks

I don't see any sets in 2002. If they made piece in 2002 they use it even
in later years.

There are lots of sets that use this piece in different colors.
You can see here all the sets that use it and it is sorted by colors.

There are 3 sets in 2004 Item No: 4492-1, 4504-1, 4504-2

These are all 209 sets for all colors

2002 will be the date the part was designed / the mould made and not the manufacture
year. Presumably the part was made in the crossover period between old and new
greys.

TLG makes parts all the time that do not go into sets immediately

I've had parts that took +20 years to show up from prototype to final form.
And some that hasen't even shown up at all

It's entirely possible that TLG made that mould in the beginning of the new
millenium and made a bunch in colours that would be purged in the great Bley
massacre a few years later

If it indeed is old light grey (I can't make a judgement on that pic alone,
sorry), it's worth quite a bit of money especially if you find the counterpart

Cheers,

Ole

parts?

Are you sure it is Light Gray? To me it seems "pale" Light Bluish Gray. A known
variation on the LBG color. I have several wedge plates like that.

It can be a bit yellowed wedge plate, usually when in doubt I check the parts
backs, there it is usually less yellowed and the color can be noticed better.

Yes, I agree, I've found that yellowed LBG often looks like newish LG, very
hard to distinguish between the two.

If you were to sell this wedge as light gray, I would upload this picture with
the lot.
