Hi,
The set I own (used) also come with this part without groove.
As far as I'm not the original owner, feel free to reverse the change

You might be right about that. On closer inspection it does look like it could
have a groove.

The reflection of the part definitely shows the groove even if the actual part
is hard to tell from. Thank you light rays!
