When I was very young, I used to get in trouble for coming home late from school because I would stop at a friend's house to play with his LEGO. It didn't take long for my wonderfully clever parents to figure out the best way to fix this tardiness problem was to get me my own LEGO. I still have all the pieces and instructions for that first kit and, though some are worse for the wear, it has fueled my passion for LEGO for decades. I've always been fascinated by the LEGO dichotomy: it's a very structured medium that enables the creation of extraordinarily diverse objects of form and function.
