| Hello. I have (2) part 4175 in a solid cream color. They both are uniform in
coloring, have the Lego logo, and are more of a lighter weight plastic. They
came from a large 4 pound lot of various vintage parts to modern parts. They
don't look yellowed to me compared to a white paper plate. Is this a undocumented
color in the part by Lego?
Also I have a darker variation light gray air tanks which are pretty cool.

Yellowing can be really marked (different) if it’s helped (helped, not caused)
by a long / strong exposition to UV (shadows…).
But it can also be uniform in nothing protected the part.
For instance, in a build, air movement is limited. If the part was loose, every
surface was in contact with the same air & humidity and yellowed the same way.

| Not sure if they are yellowed and not tan. They both have more of a pinkish hue
in certain natural lighting. And like I said they are a lighter weight plastic.
Maybe the acetate plastic.

The part dates from 1980. LEGO switched from acetate to ABS in the 1960s.

CA also would not have yellowed like that. I have 1-2 white CA parts and they
are dynamite white

They sound like heavily yellowed parts to me. You could cut them open and see
if the insides are still white.

I haven't seen the darker gray air tanks, but I know that the original ones
used a different type of plastic. I remember seeing yellow ones in the past and
they are more translucent. They look much different from standard yellow. I suspect
your gray tanks are made of the same material.

I think that the Air Tanks are Pearl dark gray

Nope definitely a darker version light gray which they made in other parts like
4085a.
Don't think I want to cut open the ladders.

Hmmm, that particular darker shade of light gray isn't nearly as dark as
the air tanks in your picture. Maybe the lighting is off?

I had old lighting from my basement without a flash on my normal camera. Came
out kind of dark.
