emlit's About Me page

Hi there. I'm emlit and I live in Linville, NC. I am a huge Space LEGO fan, and own about 90% of the sets from the Classic to Exploriens series. I welcome any questions or comments you may have.

My BrickLink philosophy is the same as the one I live by: I treat others the way I want to be treated. No matter who I'm dealing with, I'll always try to be professional and courteous. I'll never retract an order, nor will I not pay. I like the concept of feedback and am very proud of mine.

I started MOCing late, as I find it rather difficult to take apart my existing LEGO sets. On almost all of my space sets, I've spent a good deal of time "altering" the exists sets to, in my opinion, make them better.

My first true MOC came when I converted set 6580 (Town Land Jet) into a great little space fighter, utilizing only the original parts (minus the stickers) with minimal additions. Then I decided to use almost all the spare pieces I had to create a space base spanning two crater plates, which has three distinct rooms (data, science, and communication) with equipment, a rotating laser cannon, and a landing platform for small- to mid-sized VTOL spacecraft.

Later on I completely trashed all my Star Wars sets (as I hadn't had a chance to tweak them) to model and create the custom large spaceship I’ve always wanted. It's about three feet long with an open interior and lotsa goodies. I've spent hundreds of hours on this ship and the effort was worth it. Shortly thereafter, I used the majority of the remainder of my Star Wars pieces (leftover from my megaship) to create an entire set of future-themed crafts that all have a distinctive style and unique color identity (dark and light grey, black, and brown). I'm very happy with it, as it's a cohesive theme, with very different vehicles made using a limited supply of bricks, each of which isn't overloaded with pieces and wouldn't cost $300.00 on the shelf.

A few years later, I spent my entire Christmas vacation transforming the Batwing and pieces from a few other Batman sets into a self-designed mid-size stealth space fighter that's my dream LEGO spaceship.

My next project was working on the mini level and creating 20+ Batmobiles using LDD and Stud.io. I built most thanks to a few BrickLink orders. I also started mini-sized versions of the hovercrafts from Wipeout HD, but stopped after finishing six to devote more time to Batmobiles.

My greatest creation is a vault for my desk at work that opens to display a garage for my mini-Batmobiles. It also has a small drawer that can slide out to hold miscellaneous pieces.

After the Batmobiles, I combined my enthusiasm for motorcycles with my love for LEGO Space to create spacebikes using LEGO motorcycle fairings The designs are unique compared to anything I've seen on the internet and I'm quite proud of them. I’d love for the opportunity to someday have my spacebike designs on LEGO Ideas.

My last few years have been spent working on a full-sized Space Police-styled base, with separate rooms and functions, which incorporates a landing pad for my spacebikes. A prison cell transport craft, a rover, and custom android designs are included.

Thanks for dropping by!
